This is something I just wrote in my personal, offline journal.

Last night our asshole president attacked the sovereign
nation of Venezuela and kidnapped the head of its government. I have no words
for how outraged I am by this grossly immoral and illegal act. I won’t try to
express my feeling here any more than that because I can’t. We have become a
rogue nation. I am ashamed to be an American.
Is what Trump did an impeachable offense? Yes, it is. The US
Constitution provides for the impeachment and removal from office of a
president guilty of “high crimes and misdemeanors.” It doesn’t specify under
whose law a president must have committed a high crime. Therefore, it seems,
any law is sufficient. What Trump did is probably illegal under US
constitutional and statutory law because he did it without even notice to
Congress much less congressional approval. What Trump did is undeniably illegal
under international law. If Congress or the US courts won’t try and convict
Trump, the International Court of Justice in The Hague must do it. In any event,
that court must declare Trump an international criminal subject to arrest in
any nation in which he dares to set foot. That, of course, won’t happen because
the US is too powerful and internationally significant; but it sure as hell
should
